Humpday Confessions: My Lazy Bone

Back here for confessions, I see!

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I feel like I should do a testimonial for Kathy with how much traffic I get on both of my blogs for Humpday confessions. The page views triple on Wednesdays and I almost feel like I need to take the day off of work just so that I can keep up with all of the comments and all of the fun that's going on in blog-world. I seriously don't want to miss a post but I can't keep up with all of the ladies who are sharing their dirty secrets left and right.

If you've never linked up with Kathy - you're missing out on some serious internet feels! We'll just call it #KathysWorkoutPlan (Like Kanye's, only better).

Today we're going to focus on the biggest bone in my body:

You have this bone too, right? The one that loves to lay on the couch when you know you could be more productive. When there's chores to do or work to be done - that's when she's active the most.

It's the bone that makes you say "Nope."

+ Chewing. Sometimes chewing is hard and I don't think I break my food down enough for my body to digest properly. Sometimes when you have a case of the hangry's you just inhale food, right?

+ I used to be SO good about hunting down the no-reply bloggers but now I've come to a point where I don't know what to do or how to reach some of you. Please fix it??

+ Sometimes I don't read the whole email at work. Often I don't regret that decision.

+ Emptying the dishwasher or folding the clothes out of the dryer. I don't think anything will ever make me enjoy these chores - sometimes I let the need-to-fold laundry pile get 3 loads deep and its on the bed next to me as I sleep. I just can't get motivated to do it.

+ My iPhone tells me 20% battery left.... 10% battery left... 3% battery left. And yes, all I have to do is reach over and plug her in.

+ And a silly one... Flossing. It feels so good but why don't I do it every single day?

That's all I have to share today, thanks for stopping by!

Now go give my fitness blog some humpday love!

Linking up with an awesome lady, Kathy

Things I Didn't Do This Weekend

With last week feeling so long I thought that it would carry over into the weekend, but sadly and unfortunately this was not the case. It probably could have been the case except for the part where I stayed in bed for-ever both mornings and I'm not sorry about it.

I've been a little sleep deprived the last 6 months lately and I'm trying to get in a better routine of rest and relaxation, less media at bedtime, working on blogs ahead of time and not just last minute, etc.

I'm clearly failing hard because I made myself a mug of tea last night at 10pm just sitting down to write this here weekend update.

Here I am feeling like I accomplished nothing this weekend (again) and rather than trying to boringly explain how I worked out on Saturday afternoon then drank 2.5 beers saturday night, I'm going to go the route of all the things I didn't do this weekend.

This gif also has nothing to do with anything, it's just adorable like you.

+ Did not clean out my closet like I've meant to do for about 2 years now in January. There's way too many things on the hangers that I swipe past quicker than a creepy guy on Tinder. I need to get my life in check and do some closet cleaning.

+ Did not meal prep. Thank goodness I made some chicken in the middle of last week and that mom did a mega-meat cook off and I was able to take some home with me. Score!

+ Did not watch any Sochi 2014. I felt pretty lackluster about the olympics this year but I did enjoy the humor in the closing ceremonies with the final ring slow open.

+ Did not do laundry or any house-work because I'm lazy and I literally have clothes thrown all around my room. This includes "clean" workout clothes that have been on my bed for about 6 days now.

+ Did watch this and want to learn the dances. I'm beyond impressed.

What all didn't you do this weekend? I'm dying to know!

Play me out, dancing bear!

20 Miles Later

I'd like to say that we had a pretty lazy weekend, but when I look back and remember feel that I ran 10 miles Friday night and 10 miles again on Sunday morning I really can't make that claim. Portland had glimpses of good weather this weekend and somehow I found those windows and took advantage. Also, that means I've already knocked out two of four 10 miles runs for February.

If we're honest, what I enjoyed the most about this weekend was having no plans and listening to what swept over me at the moment.  My only true plans were to get to 33 running miles for the month, grocery shop to re-stock the staples needed for Sunday night meal prep and watch the return of The Walking Dead that I've been anticipating for months now. With ease, all three were accomplished and I still had the chance to start a book about leadership that I remember enjoying in college. More on that topic soon.

I want to encourage everyone to go over to Brooke's post from last week about her famous Fresh Veggie Salsa - since that's what Dan and I are planning to enjoy in almost every meal together for the remainder of the week. I'm going to show you photos of my process. but force you to link to her page for the master recipe!

In addition to cooking and cleaning up a storm, I was proud of  Dan for seizing the opportunity to get his first round of golf in for the year (outside of the simulator). It's one of his biggest passions in life and even though I'm horrible at it I still need to encourage him to play and understand that it's an outlet for him similar to how running and blogging are outlets for me.

We stayed up way too late last night watching the previous, the new and the recap shows that The Walking Dead series had to offer. I wouldn't have it any other way!
