Oh Hey, Let's Confess!

Good morning and welcome back to me who has been absent from social media land for 5 days.

By now you should know that I can be pretty good at disconnecting from the internet when I want to. As much of a WiFi, instagram, blogging etc etc etc junkie I come across as being, I'm my happiest when I'm disconnected from the iPhone and general internet noise.

Yes, I could have continued on with my quiet vibes for another few days but I didn't want to miss the fun of Wednesday Confessions with my dearest friend Melissa. Are you playing along?

Confessions!

:: My FitBit says I took 198 steps last week. This isn't a confession of non-activity,  but more of an admission that I wore my FitBit band without the FitBit sensor inside of it. So, all fashion - no function looks like a lazy Jessi.

:: I joined a dating website (or app, whatever) during a girl's night a week back and it's terrifying. Nope, still not for me. In hindsight, it wasn't as bad as the last time I tried the same path. Maybe I'll tell you that story sometime.

:: I am booking travel plans all over the place. You don't need to know where just yet, but the next few weekends look pretty wonderfully packed with girl-time, Easter and a Wedding. Crazy-great feels all around!!

:: Part of "disconnecting" included completing Season 3 of House of Cards. This season was much different than the last two and now I'm holding out on TV binges until Game of Thrones come back on. The next two weeks will be focused on this read.

:: I am long overdue for a hair appointment. My two-times-per-year cut and color falls around the same timing of Daylight Saving Time but this Spring I haven't even scheduled. What's that word we say here, woof?

:: I've also lost the care to add a photo today. I'm sorry, kind of?

Hope you guys are having a great week!

Making Melissa

Yea I'm with you on the online dating thing. I'm am completely convinced that it is NOT for me. I just can't. I do it in a moment of weakness and then quickly disconnect again. Just not for me.

Woohoo for travel plans - can't wait to see where you're headed! And jealous that you're done with HOC, we have been slow poking it this season!

I waited a year between haircuts AND I went to a new lady because I got a Groupon and she watched my hair tumble down my back out of the braid and said, "It's been a longggggg time since you had a hair cut, hasn't it?" #redhanded

I love disconnecting—to an extent—on the weekends. I barely check Twitter, occasionally Instagram, read about 0 emails. It's nice. Glad to see your face back on my feed today though. (PS I'mma grab your button so I can see your face on my blog too just FYI.) Also, Tinder? Story please. And girl, my haircut is on a yearly schedule nowadays and I'm due this month. Gotta tame this down-to-my-waist beast stat. Also, travels to New York (because I know NJ is way too unlikely but I'm 20 minutes from Manhattan, hah) please maybe yes?

Disconnecting is so necessary! I've been feeling the need to do that, trying to figure out when but I might be taking a break from the blog and all things social media soon! I just got my hair cut on Monday! I think everyone starts thinking about it this time of year!

I'm horrible at getting hair cuts. To me it's a waste of time and money (even though I feel oh-so-wonderful post-cut).

And to your fitbit confession, my "mapmyrun" app told me it took me 27 minutes to run .8 miles the other day. APparently when you lock your screen it disables the app. Or perhaps my mapmyrun app was on a date with your fitbit.

Travel plans are always fun. I'm totally obsessed with binge watching on Netflix. It's so bad.

Ooh can't wait to hear more about your travel plans! Exciting!
We don't even need to talk about what a hot mess my hair is. I think "woof" is definitely appropriate.

Travel plans?! Please tell me you have a very large suitcase so I can fit into it? :D And sometimes disconnecting from everything is just the best thing for the soul.

I could definitely use some disconnect time, bad. It would be swell if I could schedule a plethora of posts in advance and take a little mini break. That is awesome about your travel plans! I haven't done anything to my hair in over a year now... Yikes!

Fun fact...I met my husband on a dating website! :) So not all experiences are bad! Which site did you join?

I have a Fit Bit One that I wore like crazy when I first got it over a year ago...but it isn't a wrist one and the stupid holder ripped and it was tearing holes in my close so I tossed it in a drawer and haven't looked at it since. I want one of the new ones with the heartrate!

I just chopped off 15" of hair (donation) and it feels amazing! My head literally feels lighter. Also, I've recently started watching Game of Thrones from the beginning in anticipation. I freakin love that show. Hope to hear how you liked Eleanor and Park!

I'm holding onto that last HOC episode with all the muster I can manage, haha. Stepping away and shutting down from social media can be so nice, huh?! I love quiet time like that. I need to go find you on Fitbit now!!

Oh man cutting my hair scares me so much, every time I cut it, I wish it was back!!

Oh no! I would hate to be wearing my Fitbit band without the actual device in it. I love my Fitbit!! Let's be friends?
